Partnering with The Shift Foundation to create better outcomes for rangatahi.
DNA’s purpose is to help create a better Aotearoa for all – more equitable, inclusive, sustainable and productive.
It’s an ambitious goal, and one we can’t tackle in isolation. Over the last year, DNA has partnered with The Shift Foundation, leveraging both teams’ skill sets to tackle some complex mahi together.
Shift is a youth development organisation creating a future where all young women flourish in Aotearoa. The Foundation runs a range of programmes to help young women feel more connected, confident, and empowered. They also advise organisations on how to better meet young women’s needs and include them in decision-making processes.
Together, we have been supporting Sport New Zealand | Ihi Aotearoa across two programmes of work to create more inclusive active programmes for diverse rangatahi and increase opportunities for young people to shape active spaces in their communities.
DNA’s Rachel Knight says the partnership has been a win-win-win. “Working with the Shift team has brought mana and expertise to this important work with Sport New Zealand. It’s also provided opportunities for the Shift and DNA teams to learn from each other so we can collectively do more good in the world.”
Looking to the new year, we will be exploring further partnerships with other Not For Profit and purpose-driven organisations to broaden our social impact work and expertise.
