Senior Interaction Designer— Wellington

We are looking for a passionate, collaborative and creative practitioner with a desire to grow as a Senior Interaction Designer and work within our team to create world-class experiences that improve business performance, maximise technology advances, respond to changing user trends and enhance the customer experience.

As a Senior Interaction Designer you will:

  • Lead projects and pieces of work for DNA across a range of private and public sector clients

  • Participate in user research, conceptual modelling and user requirements analysis

  • Lead the interaction design of complex, transformative digital solutions in collaboration with other senior designers and developers

  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale

  • Undertake tasks and challenges of varying scales and levels of complexity

  • Design and specify service and user interactions using collaborative and iterative design techniques

  • Participate, as a key contributor, within a cross-disciplinary team to create exceptional experiences

  • Contribute to the scoping, planning and execution of projects

  • Work closely with clients to determine ‘the problem’ and design innovative solutions

  • Contribute to the growth of less experienced team members

What you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience delivering high-quality interaction design solutions across a range of contexts

  • A solid portfolio of work demonstrating strong human-centred design capabilities across a diverse range of projects, and writing samples and presentations that provide confidence to decision-makers

  • Strong ability to analyse, problem-solve and articulate your rationale

  • Capacity to think holistically about a client's business and customers’/users’ needs

  • Have a desire to connect and empathise with others

  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

  • Highly motivated and accountable for delivering great outcomes

  • Positive, curious, enthusiastic and collaborative attitude

  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, empathy and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams

  • Proficient with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Omnigraffle

  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment

  • Strong communication skills with engaging presentation style and strong writing skills

  • High attention for detail and quality

  • A degree in graphic design, industrial design, interactive design, user interface design or similar would be beneficial
